1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of driving tuition services by Forest Hill Driving School ("we", "our", or "us") to you ("the student" or "you"). By booking a lesson or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Booking & Payment
2.1 Lesson Bookings
- All lesson bookings are subject to instructor availability.
- Lessons must be booked in advance by phone, email, or through our website.
- A booking is confirmed once payment has been received or a payment arrangement has been agreed.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings at our discretion.
2.2 Payment Terms
- Payment for individual lessons is due before or at the start of each lesson.
- Block booking packages must be paid in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments.
- All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
2.3 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. However, any pre-paid block bookings will be honoured at the price paid. We will provide reasonable notice of any price changes.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Important Notice Period
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for all cancellations and rescheduling requests. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.
3.1 Student Cancellations
- 48+ hours' notice: Full refund or free rescheduling.
- 24–48 hours' notice: 50% of the lesson fee will be charged.
- Less than 24 hours' notice: The full lesson fee will be charged.
- No-show: The full lesson fee will be charged with no refund.
3.2 Instructor Cancellations
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a lesson, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer a full refund or rescheduled lesson at a mutually convenient time. We are not liable for any consequential losses arising from instructor cancellations.
3.3 Adverse Weather
In cases of severe weather conditions (heavy snow, ice, flooding), lessons may be cancelled by the instructor for safety reasons. These will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
4. Lesson Conduct
4.1 Student Responsibilities
- You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence before your first lesson.
- You must bring your provisional licence to every lesson.
- You must be fit to drive and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair your ability to drive.
- You must wear appropriate footwear suitable for driving.
- You must be punctual. Lessons will start and finish at the agreed times regardless of late arrival.
- You must inform us of any medical conditions that may affect your ability to drive.
4.2 Instructor Rights
- The instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson immediately if the student is deemed unfit to drive.
- The instructor may refuse to continue a lesson if the student behaves in an abusive, threatening, or inappropriate manner.
- The instructor has dual controls and may take control of the vehicle at any time for safety reasons.
- In such cases, no refund will be given for the terminated lesson.
5. Driving Test
- We can assist with booking your practical driving test, but the DVSA test fee is your responsibility and is non-refundable by us.
- Use of our vehicle for the driving test is included at no extra charge, subject to availability.
- We recommend booking a 2-hour lesson before your test to warm up and settle nerves.
- We cannot guarantee that you will pass your driving test. The outcome depends on your performance on the day.
- If you fail your test, additional lessons and a new test booking will be at your expense.
6. Intensive & Block Booking Courses
- Intensive course dates are agreed upon booking and are subject to instructor availability.
- Block bookings are non-transferable to another person.
- Unused lessons from block bookings must be used within 6 months of purchase unless otherwise agreed.
- Block bookings that expire without use are non-refundable.
6.1 Refunds for Block Bookings
If you wish to cancel a block booking, a refund will be calculated based on the number of lessons already taken at the individual lesson rate, minus an administration fee of £25. The remaining balance will be refunded.
7. Vehicle & Insurance
- All tuition vehicles are fully insured for driving instruction purposes.
- You are covered by our insurance while under instruction, provided you hold a valid provisional licence.
- You are not covered if you drive the vehicle without the instructor's permission or outside of lesson times.
- Any damage caused to the vehicle through reckless or negligent driving may be the student's financial responsibility.
8. Limitation of Liability
While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your safety during lessons:
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from driving lessons except where caused by our negligence.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the lessons in question.
- We are not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle.
- We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Complaints Procedure
We are committed to providing an excellent service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service:

10. Data Protection
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. By using our services, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
